Happy Holo-days From LuvMyLacquer!

Hello Lacquer Luvers & Merry Christmas to all of you who will celebrate today! I will be spending the day with my sweet little family and hope that you guys will be spending the day with someone you love as well. I am going to share a manicure with you today that I have been wearing for the past 3 days and I think you all will enjoy it just as much as I did. It's a fanciful wintry look that wasn't done in traditional colors but came together to create a beautiful manicure.

Ok, so I know what you're thinking... black was probably the last color you thought of when I mentioned a festive mani but trust me, in the end it all comes together. Photo'd above is 2 coats of Sinful Colors Whipped. This polish is from their Luxe Leather collection and is matte black awesomeness. The formula is actually pretty amazing. It was not runny or thick. It applied nicely and evened out to a smooth texture.

I then used Color Club's gold holographic polish, Cherubic, to stamp on some whimsical snowflakes. I used four different snowflakes using Red Angel (RA-110) & Winstonia (W120) stamping plates on my ring and middle fingers. These holographic snowflakes really seemed as if they began to dance once I applied a coat of HK Girl over it!

I loved the sparkle in the holo so much that I decided to pair my accent nails with a super glitzy gold polish by Daily Charme. First I applied 1 coat of Zoya Ziv as a base then 1 coat of Daily Charme Sunset. Sunset is from their Los Angeles collection and is gold metallic with holographic gold glitter. The formula was a little thick but definitely manageable. The holographic glitter in this gold polish made it one that as totally unique to any other gold polish in my collection. 1 coat of HK Girl topcoat completed my look.

This look is so different and was so much fun to do. It was entertaining to watch the snowflakes come to life with the help of my favorite topcoat. What's on your nails today lovelies? Are you guys rocking festive manicures? What do you think of this combination? Again, Merry Christmas to you all and best wishes for a prosperous New Year! As always, I hope you all enjoyed this post my dear Lacquer Luvers and I look forward to sharing my next post with you, xo!

Christmas Goodies from Liquid Sky Lacquer (Picture Heavy)!

Hello Lacquer Luvers! The holidays sure are approaching fast aren't they? I might not have done much (Ok, Ok, I haven't done ANY *hangs head in shame*) festive nail art yet this year but I do have a little something for you all to feast your eyes on. Carolyn, the maker behind Liquid Sky Lacquer, sent me some beautiful nail polish treats and I'm very happy to share my swatches with you all today! Let's get right into it, shall we?

The first swatch I have to share with you is of White Christmas:

White Christmas is described as "white with slight silver holo that reminds you of snow falling on Christmas Day!" And it does! I applied three coats of this beauty to reach complete opacity. The formula was great! It wasn't streaky at all. It applied more like a cream. I didn't put topcoat on this one.

My next swatch is of Ho! Ho! Ho!, a red, white, black, and gold glitter bomb that is so beautiful! Photo'd below is one coat of Ho! Ho! Ho! over White Christmas. I love this combination but probably should've put this over a cream so that it isn't "too much."  Who am I kidding? It's the holidays! The more glitz the better, right?!

Next up is a polish that made my heart skip a beat. Or two. Or three. Twilight Peacock is a holographic duochrome that shifts from purple to cyan. There really isn't words to describe this. It's glorious! The formula is perfection as it only took two coats to reach opacity. The pictures say it all, just look:

'Tis The Season is a green, white, and red glitter bomb with the tiniest sprinkling of holographic sparkle. This polish is so festive you won't be able to help but to think of things like candy canes, fancy packages and beautiful wreaths. I applied one coat of 'Tis The Season over a green cream.

Hot Cocoa With Whip is up next. It's a chocolate, caramel and white glitter  I enjoyed looking at my nails when I wore this because it made me think of cold winters up north as a kid. This polish is unique to my collection as it's one of the first brown glitters I've seen and I absolutely love it. Here's one coat of Hot Cocoa With Whip over a nude cream.

The next beauty I get to show you is Don't Eat The Yellow Snow. It is a yellow and white glitter topper with varying sizes of hexagonal glitter. I can't tell you how many times I've heard that phrase growing up. It's so funny to see it on the bottle! This polish applied nicely over my navy base and this was just one coat.

Lastly, there's Holly Berries which is comprised of tiny gold glitter, small red hexagonal glitter and green bars. I gotta admit, at first glance this was my least favorite but here I am, writing this post 2 days after swatching these and I'm still wearing it... because I love it! It's so blingy that I had to take the pics in the shade because the sun couldn't handle all of this gorgeousness. This is one coat over a matte black base.

These 7 polishes are from Liquid Sky Lacquer's holiday collections: CHRISMAHANNUKWANZAA, Christmas Holodays. These polishes are currently available for purchase and you can do so when you Visit Liquid Sky Lacquer By Clicking Here. Not only are these creations beautiful, the formulas are all perfection. Each one applied effortlessly without me having to fish for glitter or dab it on for placement. My personal favorites are White Christmas, Twilight Peacock & Holly Berries but, like I said before, I love them all! Which are your favorites? I'm looking forward to seeing what Carolyn creates next year, are you? As always,  I hope you all enjoyed this post my dear Lacquer Luvers and I look forward to sharing my next post with you all, xo!

Sassy Girl Paint: Boogie Nights & Money Girl

Hello Lacquer Luvers! It's been some time..I know, I know. Life has been super hectic lately with a flu stricken household and a teething baby all at the same time. There's just not enough hours in a day or days in a week for me sometimes. I'm back today though with a post featuring an indie line that's cute and even a little sassy

First up, I have Boogie Nights which is a fun glitter topper. There are purple, blue, and holographic glitter that are hex, bars and diamond shaped. The base is clear and 3 Free and the application was easy. Here's 2 coats of Boogie Nights over 2 coats over a sky blue base. I added some musical stamping on the accent nail for a little more fun.

Next up I have Money Girl, she's also a glitter topper. This one has a variety of light and emerald green and gold glitter that are square, hex and bars. The formula and application of this one was nice as well and not at all  problematic. I applied 2 coats of Money Girl over a light grey base and completed this manicure with a shiny topcoat.

These polishes surprised me. I ended up wearing Money Girl for 3 days despite my dislike for bar glitter. These are super fun and have good formulas. Sassy Girl Paint can be purchased for $7.99 in their online shop (please see link below). As always, I hope you all enjoyed this post my dear Lacquer Luvers and I look forward to sharing my next post with you, xo!

Get Ready For Loaded Lacquer!

Hello Lacquer Luvers! It's such a special day today. I had the absolute pleasure and honor of swatching polishes for a company set to debut in just a few hours! Loaded Lacquer just might be the next line you start setting alarms for come restock time. Just check out my swatches of 4 lovely glitter bombs for yourselves below!

First up, we have The Dog Ate My Homework which might take a few of you back to childhood memories. This glitter bomb is jam packed with shreds, hexagonal, square and circle glitter that are black, white, green, grey and iridescent. The Dog Ate My Homework is abstractly reminiscent of shredded paper across a lawn or yard.

I put 1 coat of TDAMH over 2 coats of Bettina Concrete. Loaded Lacquer's are, as the name implies, loaded with glitter. These aren't the type of polishes where you have to fish for glitter or worry about placement as the brushes are nice and hold a generous amount of polish on them. However, to get a uniform look with all of these mani's and avoid any clumps of glitter, I did give one side of the brush a good wipe on the bottles. All of these swatches were topped with 1 cost of Seche Vite.

Next we have Fluffy Macaroons, a polish that's even sweeter than it's name! This beauty has a whimsical array of pastel and iridescent glitter that range in shape from hexagonal to square. There's light/dark pink, light/dark yellow, white, & mint glitter through and through but the periwinkle glitter in it just makes my heart skip a few beats! I love this so very much! Here she is 1 coat over 3 coats of Essie Turquoise and Caicos.

Oxygen Bar is up next and she is truly beautiful. This lovely contains hot pink, blue, purple, periwinkle and iridescent glitter. Again, the amount of glitter in these are very generous. This is one coat of Oxygen Bar over 3 coats of Zoya Heather.

Last but not least we have Captain Obvious. This baby is full of pink, blue and purple medium sized hexes with coordinating small hexes in the range colors. There's some iridescent glitter that reflects a light green color, too! Simple but oh so pretty! Shown below is 2 coats of China Glaze Recycle and 1 coat of Captain Obvious.

Loaded Lacquer is set to debut today at 9:00am Central Time. Full sized bottles will be available at 15mL for $10 each. These gorgeous glitter bombs are 3-Free and will make for some wonderful stocking stuffers! Orders over $50 will receive free shipping and Loaded Lacquer ships internationally to Canada, UK, Japan, Israel, Sweden, New Zealand, Australia, Finland and Ireland. International orders over $50 are given a $5 shipping discount. So Lacquer Luvers, what do you all think? Are you guys loving these as much as I am? Set your alarm fit 9:00am CT & make sure you head over to www.loadedlacquer.com to see the other polishes Heather will have in stock today!

Pedi-Sox Review & Giveaway!!!

Hello Lacquer Luvers! Have you guys ever heard of Pedi-Sox? Well, last year I was putting together a wishlist for a Holiday Swap I was partaking in on Facebook and was looking for nail related products that weren't particularly a nail polish. I happened to stumble across Pedi-Sox while taking a look at a friends wishlist. After browsing their website, Pedi-Sox found it's way onto my wishlist as well! Read on to find out why and how you can win a pair of Pedi-Sox for yourself!

Pedi-Sox are the revolutionary answer to how you can have the ultimate home pedicure experience. These socks have a hole in the toe area which allows you to paint your toes while simultaneously keeping your feet comfy and clean, allowing moisturizers to absorb better and protect your nail polish - while extending the pleasure of the pedicure experience. These socks are quality-conscious, come in a variety of styles and are reusable.

I began my home pedicure by filling a basin with warm water and soap flakes. I then scrubbed, cut and filed my nails and pushed back my cuticles. I exfoliated my heels with the aid of a sugar scrub that I made myself (I don't measure anything but it's a simple mix of brown sugar and coconut oil that leaves your skin so smooth, soft and moisturized).

Once I dried my feet thoroughly, I applied a super thick mani/pedi cream by Cacee then put on these fabulous leopard print Pedi-Sox. I was immediately impressed by the quality and thickness of these socks. I liked that they were nice and "snug", it felt as if they hugged my feet and kept them warm and cozy. Once I completed my pedi and removed the socks I was impressed with how moisturized my feet felt. It seemed as though my skin drank up the moisturizers in the cream rather than allowing them to evaporate.

So, now that you've read my review and seen them for yourself, I'm sure Pedi-Sox are on their way to making it on your wishlist, right? Luckily for one of you, I'm hosting a giveaway courtesy of Pedi-Sox where you'll have an opportunity to win a pair. The winner will be able to choose either the Original Pedi-Sox with the pink logo or the California Weight Pedi-Sox in blueberry. The California Weight Pedi-Sox are lite-weight material for warmer climates and year-round use. For your chance to win your choice of Pedi-Sox, simply wait for the rafflecopter widget to load below and leave me your email address. Additional entries can be earned as well if you follow my blog, share this giveaway, etc. Good luck to all! As always, I hope you all enjoyed this post my dear Lacquer Luvers and I look forward to sharing my next post with you, xo!

Happy 50th Birthday Bettina!!!!

Hello Lacquer Luvers! Today is a very special day, it's Bettina's 50th Birthday!!! I know that to some of us Bettina is a very new company but contrary to popular belief they have been around quite some time now. Bettina started off as M&J INC and eventually evolved into the company we have all grown to love, better known as Bettina. Today I wanted to honor and celebrate one of my all-time favorite cosmetic brands and I hope you all like the festive manicure that I came up with!

As most of you who have been with me on this blogging journey from the beginning know, I absolutely love the formula of Bettina's nail polishes. They are my go-to for water marbling. I have had nothing but amazing outcomes when using their polishes with techniques so it's no surprise I chose to slow off their fabulousness today.

My manicure began with 2 coats of Bettina Sand Blast. Sand Blast is a gorgeous grey creme, one of my favorites in my entire collection. I then used Sand Blast, 190 (pink) & Ocean (turquoise-ish) for my water marbled design and topped it off with Orion. Bettina Orion is a sheer pink, aqua, & silver shimmer polish that can be used in 3 coats on its own or used as a shimmer topper. I created a gradient on my accent finger using Sand Blast, 190, & Ocean then applied one coat of Laquerlicious Glamorously Sassy. One that dried, I used Cult Nails Tempest and BM307 to add the cupcake and dipped the end of a toothpick into 190 & Ocean for sprinkles. My mani was complete with a coat of the best topcoat ever,  HK Girl!

I am so happy with how this festive manicure turned out! It made me realize just how much I adore this company. Their colors are all gorgeous and the formula is by far one of the best there is out there. I'm lucky enough to live in Miami where I can easily find this brand in stores but for those of you who are not here or Puerto Rico you can easily obtain Bettina nail polish and other cosmetic goodies by emailing them at rosamadistributors@gmail.com. HAPPY 50TH BIRTHDAY BETTINA!!! As always, I hope you all enjoyed this post my dear Lacquer Luvers and I look forward to sharing my next post with you, xo!!
